Amy Tremper is a counselor pursuing her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Southwestern College in Santa Fe, NM. She is passionate about offering care that is relational and grounded in genuine connection, where people feel safe to explore their experiences and reconnect with their own inner resources. Her approach is person-centered and trauma-informed, with a particular interest in supporting clients through life transitions, identity exploration, and healing from difficult experiences. She is also interested in the role of story in therapy, and how the narratives we carry can shape how we understand ourselves and our lives.

Amy’s professional and academic background both inform her counseling perspective. She earned a B.A. in Photography at the College of Santa Fe. An education that deepened her art practice and opened her imagination. Before beginning her counseling training, Amy spent years working in research and design, where she led teams of designers and found deep fulfillment in supporting others to grow and realize their potential. Through this work, she developed a strong foundation in listening, creating supportive environments, and holding space for people to feel seen and heard, skills she now brings into her work as a therapist. She also maintains a creative practice rooted in the arts, and her background in photography and crafting continues to shape how she listens and stays present with clients, with an appreciation for curiosity and the many ways people make meaning. Outside of the therapy room, Amy enjoys running and hiking in nature with her family, as well as sewing, knitting, and painting.
