Kestrel Sego is a student therapist pursuing an MA in Counseling at Southwestern College. His journey to the counseling room has been entirely guided by a desire to be of service. With a background in World Religions and Peace and Conflict Studies and a rich history of living and working in an intentional community in northern New Mexico, he brings a wealth of lived experience to his practice. His years spent facilitating group processes and sitting with others through their grief and celebrations cemented a core belief: genuine connection is the foundational source of our well-being. Kestrel knows that profound healing is possible, and he believes it begins when we are no longer isolated in our experiences.
As a therapist, Kestrel strives to offer care that is warm, culturally responsive, and grounded in our shared humanity. He actively pushes back against the idea that our struggles mean we are broken; instead, he contextualizes his clients' challenges within the complex, often dysfunctional systems we live in. Integrating relational and mindfulness-based approaches, Kestrel works to foster authenticity, ease, and stronger communication with his clients. He views therapy as a deeply mutual encounter where both therapist and client are transformed, and he considers it a profound honor to participate in each clients' unique healing journey.
